FlightGear

Please visit the FGFS web page: http://www.flightgear.org

FlightGear is a free, open-source flight simulator that was originally written for Gnu/Linux systems but has since been ported to at least Win32? and SGIPlatforms?.

It supports hardware 3D acceleration, but most importantly, it has accurate positions of stars, the moon, the sun, and scenery. These features aren't common in flight simulators.

There's a lot more at the FlightGear website, so I recommend going there.

Update December 2004. Wow. It's... uh. Progressed. It's a really slick, nice fight simulator now. I downloaded a copy for Win32 and gave it a bit of a play and was pretty impressed.
